I have completed a Masters degree in Physiotherapy and in addition a three year Sports Rehabilitation degree. This background has enabled me to develop exceptional expertise when treating neuro-musculoskeletal injuries; ranging from general aches and pains to sports specific rehabilitation.
I treat a varied case load of patients from the professional athlete to the sedentary. I have been fortunate enough to have worked with international teams (England RFU) and various professional athletes.
All treatments are based on the latest evidence based research to enhance recovery and help you return to your desired pain free activity level.
Winchester sports and spine has established links with orthopaedic surgeons, pain specialists and GPs so we can get your rehabilitation right as a team giving you the best possible informed choices.
I am a registered golf fitness medical professional with the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) and offer an exceptional service to professional and recreational golfers. The specifically designed musculoskeletal screens ensure that the players’ game is not compromised by physical limitations. Please visit www.mytpi.com for more information.
I am also a certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner. This colourful method of taping is becoming increasingly popular and is used on numerous international athletes for various different conditions.
In my spare time I race motocross bikes competitively, sail catamaran dinghies and play golf.
I am a keen sportsman and can relate to the frustration of not being able to compete due to pain. Consequently I have an exceptional drive to help you recover in the shortest amount of time.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you unsure or wish to discuss your complaint so that we can get you on the road to recovery.
I can offer you specific exercise, manipulation, massage, ultrasound, Kinesio taping, injury prevention screening & TPI golf screening. We will endeavour to diagnose your problem, optimise your healing and eliminate contributing factors to minimise the chance of your problem recurring.
Whiplash injury
Whiplash injury is an alarmingly common part of our modern lives. One in 200 of us will suffer from it at some point. Whiplash is an injury to the spine caused by a sudden jolt to the body – often a road traffic accident. The head is thrown forwards and then backwards rapidly. The immediate result can be injury to bone or soft tissue. Often there is no discomfort or pain for a number of hours – even days in some cases. Symptoms may include:
- Neck Pain
- Shoulder pain
- “Pins and needles” in the hands
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Nausea
Physiotherapy is especially beneficial for the treatment of Whiplash. Early treatment is always preferable, though even long-standing symptoms can be relieved with our expert approach. The aim is to restore normal movement to your neck as quickly as possible and minimize the risk of poor recovery which can lead to long term pain and disruption to your life.
