Podiatry
Help is at hand for your aching feet!

Rosa Morato, Podiatrist
Hello, my name is Rosa and I am happy to be joining Winchester Sports and Spine as the resident podiatrist.
I became interested in podiatry when I realised how important feet are to our mobility, our independence to live life on our own terms could depend on our ability to walk. This ability is something most of us take for granted but can in certain circumstances easily be lost. Through high standards of care for my patients I want to help maintain and where possible improve quality of life.
In addition to the management of more serious disorders such as chronic diabetes I will also undertake more general care of the foot and nail;
- management of corns and callus (hard skin)
- heel fissures (cracks)
- fungal nail infections (athletes foot)
- verrucae, wart treatment
- reduction of thickened nails
- ingrown toenails
- general foot health and footwear advice
My more specialised work includes treatment for;
- plantar fasciitis
- shin splints
- mortons neuroma
- pain in the forefoot (metatarsalgia)
- achilles tendonitis
- capsulitis
- muscular and joint pain
- lower back, hip, knee pain due to foot dysfunction
- over pronated feet
- falls prevention
After graduating from the University of Southampton I have worked in mulitidisciplinary clinics in Bishops Waltham and Hythe with a specialist interest in the pain management of musculo-skeletal conditions and sports related injuries. I am also interested in footwear and have worked, assessing and advising athletes and the general public at Alexandra Sports the well known running shoe store in Portsmouth.
Born in Seville, Spain, I now live in Southampton with my partner and two young daughters.
I look forward to welcoming you to my practice at Winchester Sports and Spine, call our friendly receptionists Janet, Fiona or Judith to book your appointment to come in and discuss your foot health requirements.
Rosa.
