What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a non invasive, holistic complementary therapy based on the principle that reflexes in the feet, hands, face and ears correspond to different areas of the body. The practical application of reflexology involves specific techniques being applied to reflexes on the feet, hands, ears or face, relaxing the body and stimulating it’s own innate healing potential, working to restore homeostasis, the delicate balance needed to support optimum health.
Each treatment takes into account both the physical and non-physical factors that may be having an effect on general health and well being. With many health problems being linked to nervous stress and tension, reflexology provides a natural ‘whole body’ support by providing the following benefits:
- Improved sleep
- Improved mood
- Tension relief
- Enhanced wellbeing
My name is Lynsey Knight, I qualified with an ABC Level 3 Diploma from the prestigious London School of Reflexology, training under the watchful eye of Louise Keet, described as ‘Britain’s leading Reflexology Practitioner’ (Mail on Sunday).
A proud member of The Association of Reflexologists (AOR) Professional Reflexology (PR) and registered to the Complementary and National Healthcare Council (CNHC) – the national regulator of complementary healthcare, I am extremely passionate about reflexology and the benefits it has to offer. Being a part of the associations mentioned above allows access to information on current developments in the world of reflexology, ensuring client specific, tailored treatments, helping to support a healthy lifestyle, naturally. Since qualifying, I have undertaken additional specialist training in the following areas as part of my ongoing CPD programme:
- Hot Stone Reflexology
- Maternity Reflexology (covering Pre-conceptual, Pregnancy and Post Natal care)
- Spinal Reflexology (A powerful form of reflexology, based on stimulating the nerve roots of the spine via the feet)
- Hand Reflexology
- *NEW FOR 2016 * Facial Reflexology (A fantastic treatment, offering intrinsic stimulation of the body’s healing mechanisms, whilst also providing improvement in muscle tone and strengthening layers of skin tissue – leaving you feeling and looking great!)
Outside of the clinic, I keep myself busy being a wife and mum to 3 small and extremely adorable children. In my spare time, I enjoy supporting the children in their chosen sporting activities, spending time baking and as a family, we love nothing more than walking our favourite four legged flatcoat retriever friend ‘Digger’
I am available for appointments on Thursdays and alternate Saturdays and welcome you to contact our friendly reception staff to book a treatment. Alternatively, if you would like specific information as to how reflexology may be able to help you, please visit my personal website or feel free to contact me directly on 07534 602390 or email: Lynseyknight@rocketmail.com.
