Myofascial therapy in Winchester

Myofascial Therapy for Structural Bodywork restructures the body through manipulating the body's connective tissue system with theaim of helping the body to achieve a better posture and acting as an excellent solution to common painful conditions like back pain, neck pain and sports injuries.Although it is not sports massage, treatment is carried out both on a massage table and in sitting/standing postures that give the therapist the opportunity to release tension wherever it may be found. It is normal to have 3 or 4 sessions of Myofascial Therapy with a week between each to allow the body to absorb each treatment and achieve optimal balance for posture and movement. The myofascial therapist uses fingers, hands or arm to contact certain tissues and will ask you to move in specific ways while they open and reposition those tissues. This process can feel a little like a Yoga stretch often involving some gentle burning. Your therapist will converse with you to determine the right level of depth that should keep things comfortable for you. The idea is to achieve a balanced body that is without pain but you may have to feel some of your stored pain as it leaves your body, especially in traumatised areas.Clients often return once or twice a year for a tune up session to iron out some of the inevitable wrinkles of life. Others will choose to compliment their treatment with appropriate exercises.
