Primal pain relief is a concept that aims to help you reduce inflammation in your body.
Beetroot brownies
from the delightful Joe Wicks, Lean in 15 book.
- 2 cooked and peeled beetroot, (140g) roughly chopped
- 175g ground almonds
- 120g chestnut puree
- 30g raw cacao powder
- 45g honey
- 1/2 tsp almond essence
- 4 eggs
Method
- preheat the oven to 180 C (160 fan, gas 4)
- place all ingredients into a food processor and blitz to a smooth batter
- throw in a good handful of mixed dried fruits and nuts and pulse to chop them roughly
- tip the batter into a lined brownie tin (28cm by 15cm) and bake for 18mins
- remove the brownie tin from the oven and leave to cool slightly before cutting into squares
Blueberry Almond Bread

- 4 ripe bananas
- 4 eggs
- 100g (3.5 fl oz) coconut oil
- 125g (4.5 oz) almond nut butter
- 60g (2oz) coconut flour
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 60g frozen blueberries
Method
- heat the oven to 180 C (350 F, gas 4)
- grease a alb loaf tin and line it with grease proof paper
- combine the banana, eggs, coconut oil and nut butter in a food processor
- add the coconut flour, soda, baking powder, vanilla, cinnamon, and blend together
- stir in the blueberries and spoon the batter into the loaf tin
- bake for 45 minutes until golden and cooked through
- leave in the tin to cool for 5 mins before turning out onto a wire rack.
- slice to serve
